Located in an iconic business and lifestyle destination, the Grand Hyatt Kuwait is the luxury hotel brand’s debut in the country. The lavish hotel towers over an area of modern development, providing guests with an array of exclusive amenities during their stay for the epitome of luxury hospitality.
The hotel is connected to the 360 Mall, granting guests access to multiple dining and retail venues, as well as being linked to the brand new indoor Arena Kuwait, which seats 5,800 for world-class entertainment, and overlooking the Rafa Nadal Tennis Academy Kuwait.
The design of the Grand Hyatt Kuwait takes inspiration from the country’s iconic location and culture, and interior designer Meyer Davis was also influenced by modern geometric patterns. The lighting design was produced by award-winning lighting consultants Elektra Lighting. The designer’s vision was to create a soft and elegant ambience synonymous with luxury and relaxation throughout all spaces. Elektra Lighting specified lighting products from leading architectural manufacturer LEDFlex for the project throughout the lobby, pre-event spaces, and spa.
The Grand Hyatt Kuwait hosts an impressive 302 guestrooms and suites ranging from between 45 to 260sqm, which boast captivating skyline views. Guestrooms include 34 grand club suites, eight junior suites, 21 suites with private landscaped garden terraces, and one presidential suite. Floor to ceiling windows allow natural lighting into each room, and cleverly implemented lighting infuses warmth, casting shadows from the screens in the entryways.
Upon arrival, guests are instantly captivated by the dramatic lobby with exceptional art that celebrates the region, surrounded by swathes of white drapery, and a marble water feature at the centre. The lobby lounge has plush seating and wall panels coated in geometric patterns. LEDFlex Lumen Line 240 in 2700K provides flexible low-level lighting in troughs and coves to cast public areas with a decadent and dynamic backdrop for socialisation and relaxation.
The tranquil Noor spa and indoor pool is a private and exclusive aquatic haven, with circular symmetry creating inviting soft edges. Rays of natural sunlight expand the infinity element of the pool, and LEDFlex supplied Ultimo Neon 10 in 2700K to illuminate the wall and floor details in the water feature around the pool area.
The use of spherical architecture creates a flow between the indoor and outdoor areas of the spa, with Eco Flex 120 incorporated into the joinery, and Maxi Neon in 2700K into the plinth lighting, a warm glow is nurtured which invites mindfulness and serenity.
As a sought-after venue for hosting elegant weddings and grand special occasions, the Grand Hyatt Kuwait has 2,800sqm of magnificent event space and pre-event areas including a bridal suite and lounge areas. The atrium in the foyer which offers stunning sky views has cleverly integrated Lumen Line 240 in Dual Colour in the troughs and coves which transform from day to night scenes. Shelving in the library is subtly backlit by the Eco Flex 120 in 2700K, creating a sophisticated setting for offices and meeting rooms.
The carefully considered and detailed interior design, in combination with a clever and thoughtful lighting scheme, not only brings to life the culture and opulence of the hotel, but offers guests an unforgettable experience in the epitome of luxury. The elegance and ambience created will be a meaningful factor in crafting stunning and unique special occasions for years to come.
