K-LiTE Illuminates the Urban Street Corridor of Pimpri-Chinchwad, in Pune

As part of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation’s Urban Street Lighting initiative, K-LiTE is contributing to the transformation of a prominent 12.5 km service corridor along the Dapodi–Nigdi route in Maharashtra. The project is designed to elevate safety, accessibility, and visual coherence, delivering a more legible and people-friendly public realm.

Designed as a multi-modal urban streetscape, the service corridor integrates uniform footpaths, a dedicated cycle track, and extensive beautification works, all while preserving the existing corridor and mature tree cover. The aim is to create a welcoming, people-centric environment that supports pedestrians and cyclists, supported by consistent and uniform illumination along the entire stretch.

K-LiTE were approached by Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for this project based on extensive and robust product offerings, along with a proven expertise in outdoor and urban lighting solutions. Following detailed briefings on the project intent and a series of technical and design discussions, a full-scale mock-up of the selected luminaires was successfully executed to align with the desired aesthetic and performance criteria.

The K-LiTE Dynasty Post Top luminaire was selected for both phases of the project, providing efficient LED illumination that delivers visual comfort while complementing the upgraded streetscape. The luminaires have now been supplied to the nominated electrical contractor, who is responsible for installation and on-site implementation.

Installation is currently partially complete, allowing sections of the corridor to be opened for public use. Full completion of the lighting scheme is scheduled following the conclusion of ongoing civil works. Once complete, the project will show how thoughtful and efficient lighting can enhance functionality, safety and the overall urban experience.

Throughout this project, K-LiTE continues to support progressive urban infrastructure developments, delivering reliable, efficient, and aesthetically aligned lighting solutions that shape safer and more sustainable cities.
